Even with the "Don't show dialogue box during Send/Receive" option checked, I had the Send/Receive Progress window popping up in front of anything I did (including PowerPoint presentations) in Outlook 2003 until I disabled the "Hide When Minimized" new 2003 'feature'--the option to only place a small outlook icon in the system tray when the program is minimized. Since then, no pop-ups.
This worked for me:
1. Right click the Outlook icon in the system tray
2. Un-check "Hide When Minimized menu option
3. Make sure that the "Don't show dialogue box during Send/Receive" option is checked on the Send/Receive dialogue box
So much for the new feature.
