make the access 2000 data bases compatiable with access 2003

Everytime I try to download from the templates section an acess data base I
am told I do not have the right program. I have Access2003. what won't the
2000 data baeses recognize it like the word program set for 97 recognize my
word2003

Ummmm....

There's something else wrong.

Access2003 not only recognizes A2000 format databases, it uses the
A2000 format by default when you create a new database!

Try checking Tools... Options... Advanced... Default File Format.
Maybe you've reset this property to 2002/2003 and Access is just
warning you that the template is in a different format.
