I've been playing with the OpenOffice 2 beta and really like some of the
features they have. Particularly, I find their TOCs and Indices easier to
use (I've used Word extensively (97, 2000, XP, and 2003) for years as a
technical writer, grad student, and now teacher). Also, what is stopping you
from including the ability to save in pdf like WordPerfect and OpenOffice? A
deal with Adobe? THAT feature is one reason OpenOffice made it onto my PC to
begin with. It's becoming a very nice program, even for someone who uses a
higher than average amount of Word's feature set.
