Making font size and shadow changes to entire document

Hi. I'm a church secretary and each week I put together a ppt for worship. I have all the songs saved separately in their own file and each week I copy and paste for the songs we are using. I went through the files and updated them all to pptx to avoid problems.

Here is my question. When I attempt to change all the text to the same size it does not work. For instance...the size now is 36+. I want to change all the text to 40. When I type that, it will sometimes change to 38+ or sometimes not change at all. What I have found so far is that I am having to go through every time and make sure that each slide is the same size.

I'm having the same issue with shadows.

Anyone have any advice for me?

I believe what you're running into is that Content Placeholders in PPT are
formatted by default with a property called "Resize text to fit shape". The
effect is that the more text entered into the placeholder the smaller the
text is scaled to. My understanding is that this is done by design in order
to not have overflow text go unnoticed & to prevent the placeholders from
"growing" off the edges of the slides or overlapping other slide content.

If you enlarge the placeholder to accommodate more content @ the font size
you want it to be you should be OK. Alternatively, select the placeholder &
go to Format> Shape - Text Box & modify the AutoFit attribute to something
other than the "Resize..." option mentioned above.
