Making Resources work on a Non-Working Days

Hello there,

Here's a scenario: MS Project 2003 / Using a Centralized Resource Pool

- December 25, 2008 is defined as a non-working day in the standard
calendar in the resource pool.
- I want a resource 'ABC' to work on a certain task on December 25, 2008.
- Task calendar is used (custom made: 7 working days a week / 8 hours per
day), 'Scheduling ignores resource calendar' is checked & applied on that
task.
- Project Plan shows that the task will be done on December 25, 2008.
- Project plan is saved & closed & the resource pool is updated
- The resource pool does show that a task is scheduled for December 25,
2008 but DOES NOT show the work hours allocated against 'ABC' in the Resource
Usage view on December 25, 2008.
- The project plan is opened again & the work hours are there for 'ABC' on
December 25, 2008 in the resource usage view.

What I have observed that if we make a resource work on a non-working day
(week ends or any gazetted holidays), by using the task calendars & ignoring
the resource calendar, the centralized resource pool doesn;t show the work
hours booked for the resource(s) engaged in that task on that particular day,
unless that project plan is opened.

Is there a solution to this??

Thanks & Regards
Mohsin
