Managed Office Installation Problem

I

Inks

After upgrading from windows 2000 professional to Windows
XP, adding the client computer to the domain, Microsoft
Office 2000 are installed automatically.
This is fine only that the installation continues even
after the package has been installed. Thus slowing down
logon and generally being a nuisance!

Hi Inks,

Not quite sure what you mean by 'the installation continues'.
Are you getting an error message or are these users for which
Office has not been previously installed or who are roaming?

Upgrading in place of Windows can sometime do odd things with
Office.

Hi

I'm not sure if this is the same problem as mine, but I
wonder if it could be... I installed the Equation Editor
3.0 package from my Office 2000 Pro CDROM a few weeks
ago. Now, EVERY time I try to use the Equation Editor,
and sometimes when I don't, it keeps opening the Windows
Installer window and tries to install 2-4 times. If I
hit cancel each time, eventually I will get to what I
want. However, I now cannot try to install Office 2000
updates without the same thing occurring. It tells me to
put in the CDROM, I do, and then it says it cannot access
the file or something. Does this sound like your
problem?? I would GREATLY appreciate any insight on this
problem and thank you in advance for a solution!
