Managing Multiple Profiles

Hello,

I'm using Outlook 2003 on a tablet pc. I've set up two profiles -- one for
my personal account and one for my business. I've set it up through the
control panel to request which account to use when launching Outlook. It
works fine at first -- the first 3-4 times I open Outlook, it prompts me for
the profile to use. Then, suddenly, it stops prompting me and opens the same
profile over and over again. The only thing I've been able to do to get the
prompt back is to shut down and restart. Ugh!

By the way, sometimes it's my personal (default) account, and sometimes it's
my business account, so it doesn't seem to favor one over the other.

Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround so I don't have to reboot, which
is time consuming and really, really annoying during the business day.

This can happen when another application, such as a PDA synchronization program or some Outlook COM add-ins, holds Outlook open even when the user interface has shut down. The best way to troubleshoot it is to turn off all such applications that use Outlook, then start them up again one by one.

Sue,

thanks for the reply. You know, I use ActiveSync for the PPA (rarely), but
I also use c program called "Tablet Extensions for Outlook" that allows me to
handwrite move fields than Outlook normally supports-that maybe the culprit.
I'll turn it off and see if the I robl em recurs.

Appreciated.
