Manual and Distributed Transaction Mode

Hi all,

What are manual and distributed transaction modes? More importantly, how
do they contribute to the following error message:

"Cannot create new connection because in manual or distributed
transaction mode"

I read somewhere is was due to not closing ADO recordsets when done with
them, but I make sure I close my recordsets when finished and I still
hit the error.

I've googled around but unless my searching skills are rubbish I haven't
been able to find any decent answers to the issue.
