Manuallly type a hyperlink?

I need to manually type in a hyperlink in the "Action Settings/Hyperlink to:" field. I ned the link to be "relative" so when I transfer the PowerPoint to another PC it'lll know where to find the hyperlinked files. Is there a way to do this?

You don't need to "manually" type in the hyperlink. Simply put the linked
file in the same folder as your PowerPoint file, select "Other file" from
the "Hyperlink to" options, browse to the folder and select the file. The
path will be relative when you move both files to another PC.

Yeah I thought I did that when I originally set up this lnk. However now when I do just as you indicated I get a full path name to the file ie. "C:\Documents and Settings\louism\Desktop\CMPM" where CMPM is the name of the folder where the ppt files live. Any explantion

Once you have set the action and click "OK" to save it, right-click the
object and select "Action Settings" again. Does it just show the file name
or the path you mentioned?

Yes it does. However I then did a save command from the file menu and the full path changed to just the filename and the first slide name. Which I suspect is correct. What are your thoughts

Let me be clearer. Yes the full path did appear when I right-clicked. Then I did a save command and the full path name changed to the ppt filename with the first slide name. Is this how it is supposed to work

Yes! The easiest way to verify is to copy both files into a different
folder and try it out. Should be fine!
