Many Temp files

Syed

Whenever I save a word Doc, or make any changes, each time it creates a temp
file and it goes on and on...hence I have to delete these quite often and its
getting to my nerves. Although the autosave option is for every 10 minutes.I
have windows XP SP2 and Office 2003. All are patched with the latest.
Kindly suggets.

Hi Syed,

Word uses quite a few temp files. It's part of its design. When Word is closed normally it should, generally clean up the files,
other than ones tied to the 24 item, Office clipboard, which it may keep in play. This article has more information on the Word
temp files. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/211632/en-us?FR=1

FWIW, in Word there is an 'autorecover' file, and an auto backup but there ins't a built in 'autosave' feature.
