Map import from DB2 database

I have created a map from a DB2 database to Project 2003 successfully.
However, when I try to create a map using "merge the data with an existing
project" and select a "set merge key" the merge never finishes. The DB2 data
type is Zoned for the key field and I was mapping it to a "number" field in
Project that already has the key values populated. I would have thought that
the Machine Data Source setup information for iSeries would have handled
"zoned" data type. Is there something different I should be doing?

Calvin,

I haven't worked on an iSeries in a while (~5 yrs.), but the methodology we
used to use when mapping files to the PC was to use a reverse file mapping
approach. In other words, map the fields (that you eventually want to bring
down from the iSeries) from MS Project to the DB2 database first, and see
what field type they are by defauilt. Then, you can convert the data, if
necessary, in the DB2 database in a "work" or "intermediate interface" (cpyf
with appropriate options - e.g., *map, etc...) file to make sure that the
data comes accross to the PC correctly.

Please let me know if this helps.
