Map network drive and network place

B

Boon

Hello,

My question might not directly relates to Accesss.....

What are the differences between mapping the network drive and setting up a
new network place.

The two methods give the same result which is that I can access the files on
the server machine.

I would like to know what the differences and which one is a good practice.
From my observation is that the mapping will assign a letter (C,D,E,Z...) to
the destination, but the network place will use the UNC path.

Thanks,
