Mapping SQL database in 2003

I have a CD with an offline copy of an SQL database (MDF, LDF) and I would
like to put it into Visio via the database mapping command.

Is there anyway to acheive this offline or do I need to install an SQL
server instance?

You will need to have SQL Server to which you can attach your offline
database file.
