Hi Willie,
MS Mappoint 2004 is a standalone program, but both MapPoint
and Office are managed by the MS Installer. If the installer
detects a need to update or repair an Office program it may
take advantage of your run for MapPoint to do so.
Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel
to see if Microsoft Office XP or any 2002 series Office family
apps are listed.

I am trying to install mappoint 2004 and the installer is
asking for Microsoft Office XP Professionsl, which I do
not have, my question is do you have to have Office XP to
