Mappoint starts in office

When I open word or excel mappoint tries to open. How do I stop this?

I have not used this appliication, but a quick check on the web site
suggests that it can work via an Office add-in, in which case removing the
add-in (or controlling it using a method similar to that shown at
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm#planc) will
prevent it from loading.

That did not work but I did find something that might help in solving the
problem. When you right click on the standard tool in word bar Mappoint is
there but it is not high lighted (it is in a gray scale) and the box is
checked. I have not found a way to uncheck it. I am looking on the Mappoint
start up for clues
