March 2006 critical update for Office

R

Richard

We're still running Office 2000 on 600+ desktops and laptops. We're using
WSUS but it doesn't support Office 2000. We don't have SMS. Is there
another way to push out the update automatically, either via AD or script?
Any info or comment is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Richard,

Did you install from an administrative installation, or did each computer
get installed from CD?

If there is no administrative installation and you don't have deployment
software, one possibility is to post the EXE on a shared server and have the
workstations each run it.

See Microsoft Office Assistance: Distributing Office 2000 Client Updates to
Users:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011525651033.aspx
for more details.

If there is an administrative installation, there is a good article here
that may help you determine the best way to patch:

Installations:

Hope that helps--
