Margin changes when emailing files

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Whenever I receive an excel file to open in Excel 2008, an error box pops up saying that margins do not fit page size - When I check margin settings they are reading 4697.03". This also happens when I email files to anyone, including myself.
Anyone?

What printer are you using? What fonts are in the workbook? What is the
paper size?
