Margin indicators in Word 2002??

A

Andrew

Two joined lines forming a right angle (something like
this: _|)have suddenly appeared in each corner of the page
of my Word 2002 document with the 'corner' pointing in to
the document. The lines appear to line up with the
margins and only appear in Print Layout view. They do not
print out so it is not a major problem but I would like to
know what they are and how you display/hide them!

Thank you in advance for any help.

Check under Tools>Options>View to see if the Text boundaries box is checked
under the Print and web layout section of the dialog.

Otherwise, it can be as a result of enabling support for Asian languages.

Thanks Doug

Neither of these seem to be the cause; the text boundaries
box is unchecked and the only language enabled is English.

It seems to have happened to some machines but not others
in the office - possible as a result of an upgrade that
was recently rolled out.

Its not a problem so don't waste any more time on it! Its
just one of those things where it would be nice to know
the cause!

Thanks again
Andrew

Just be glad they don't print: some users have reported that they do. Have
you checked Start | Programs | Microsoft Office Tools | Microsoft Office XP
Language Settings to be sure that support for an Asian language is not
installed?
