Margins

Hi. I'm in the middle of creating a letterhead template
with a header, footer and our company logo (which is
located on the left side of the page) intergated all in
one. Now my problem is working with the margins. I would
like to set my margins 2.5 inches from the left but that
disaligns my header and footer. I have tried using the
indent tabs to set left margin to start typing a letter
but it defaults back to the main margin. Any ideas to
help with this problem? Or is there a way just to set
additional margins for the body of the letter and not
anything else??
