Marking a milestone as 100% complete with a resource assigned

Hi All,

(using Project Server 2003)

The question:
If I have a milestone in a project, with 0 work and 0 duration, and I assign
that milestone to a resource, how can I mark that milestone as complete?

I want to assign that milestone to a resource so that it appears in their
outlook calendar upon publish. I try to mark it as 100% complete in Project
(i.e. through Task Information), but then I get issues in becoming "out of
sync with my protected actuals". Can I get around this? (I seem to be able to
say "No" to Syncing with actuals, but I get that message every time I open
the project)

Any help most appreciated :)

Thanks in advance,

AndyN

Hi Rod,

Yep, have republished the assignment. The problem is not so much in
assigning the work (i.e. through a republish) but in marking it 100%
complete.

Thanks,

Andy,

I am not sure what version of MSProject & Server you are using or where you
have managed time periods active. However, there is a hot fix for MSP 2003
to allow the project manager to set milestones at 100% complete. I believe
it is included in SP1 for MSP 2003 & Server.

Hope this helps.
