Marking Tasks after completing them

When I click 25% on the tracking toolbar when I go to the Gantt chart it
splits my task in half. When I mark it 100% it still splits it in half. Why
is it doing this?

You don't provide enough information to give you an exact explanation, but
it's very likely that the system is splitting the task because of the status
date you set. For instance, if a 5 day task is one day complete the week it
was supposed to be done, and you marked it so, and then five weeks later
you marked it complete with a status date of 5 weeks later, then the system
would set the finish date as of the status date and assume that the
remaining work occurred the week you marked it complete resulting in a
split. Does this help?
