marks for margin corners

A few days ago I started noticing a set of corner marks at each of the
4 margin corners in the print layout view. How did those get turned
on, and how do I turn them off?

I already checked that the text boundaries were turned off, and the
language settings don't include any of those languages (or anything
similar). What else could it be?

You may try the registry fix suggested by Jay Freedman in the following thread:

I have never had the problem myself so I have no personal experience with
it. However, others have reported that the fix helped them getting rid of the
problem. In order to read the related posts in other threads, you may go to
