Master list of citations is read-only

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel When I try to add citations in my master list, Word throws an error and tells me that the master list is read-only, so citations won't be saved. I can't seem to find where the master list is stored, so I can't edit the file permissions. How can I solve this problem? Many thanks for your help.

Are you trying to edit an existing citation? If so, then on the
Citations tab of the Toolbox select (highlight) the citation in the list
then click the little gear button at the lower right of the palette.

You'll be offered two options: Edit Citation or Citation Source Manager.

Details and a screen shot are on pages 308 & 309 of the Office 2008 for
Mac All-in-One For Dummies book.
