Master Projects and Sub Projects

What concerns do I need to be aware of? I am using MSPS2007.
What effects can happen if the master project is published? It seems as
though I have read about not publishinging tasks in the master project.
This may have only been with MSPS2003.

Hello Brad,
With version 2003, resources assignments were duplicated when you published
a master project.
In 2007, this problem has been solved.

Hi Brad,
As Gerard suggests, the feature works very well in 2007. I thought you may
also want to know that you can even "cluster" your sub project Workspaces
under the Master Workspace, which will give you an overall view of all our
projects. I find this a great feature, since it logically brings it all
together.

Thanks!
Another question: In order to import a project as a subproject of a master,
the sub project needs to be saved on the server, correct? When you inport
the subs, how do you specify that you want a sup workspace? It does not give
you the option from what I can see.

In other words, if I wanted to create a master project with sub projects
that have a master workspace and sub work spaces under the master, what would
be the correct steps?

Brad, when you publish the project the first time to Project Server a dialog
window will ask you if you want to create a new workspace or provision under
an existing page, this page would be your Master page that you will need to
choose.

I hope this helps

Yes, I have seen that and it works. Hpowever, If you have to save a project
as to the server before you import it into the master, the steps would be
different if you only saved the project and not publish it.
So I gues you would:
1. Create the mater project in MSP2k7 and publish
2. Create proposed sub projects in MSP2K7, save and publish workspaces under
master.
3. Open Master and import projects as subs
