Master Resource Pool error

H

Heather

When I try to open the MasterResourcePool in MS Project
2002 as read-only, I receive the following error message:

'Microsoft Project has encountered an error and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'

Does anyone know why this is happening? How do you fix it?

Thank you,
Heather

This could indicate a corrupt Resource Pool. This can be fixed easily.
Cut and paste/move the Resource Pool file to a totally different directory.
Open Project Pro 2002 and save a file with the exact same name as the moved Resource Pool File.
Now open your Master Project and follow the prompts to populate this empty Resource Pool with the recorded ones on the other Projects.
If you are not using a Master File and these are a collection of Projects then just open each Project File individually and follow the prompts to
populate the new empty Resource Pool. Its a great backup feature for Resource Pools.
