Master/Sub Project Divide and Conquer

MSP2k7
We are going to obstain from building Master Projects with Subs until we get
more experience with MSP2k7. I need to know how ( or what is the best way )
to take a Master project that has sub projects on the server and remove them
and make one big project.
Is there a limitation on how many lines a project can have?

The theoretical limit is 998 subprojects in a master project. How many
projects do you have in your system? You can create a master project pretty
quickly from the Project Center in PWA. Using the Control key or Shift key,
select the row headers for all of the projects and then click the Edit
button. If you have existing master projects and want to remove them, ask
your Project Server administrator to delete them. This will not harm any of
the subprojects, since they already exist as independent projects. Hope
this helps.

Thanks Dale, It helps a little.

I have a Master project that has 5 supprojects in it. These sub projects
have preddessors and successors that are linked to each other and the Master.
We are experiencing issues saving files as .mpp to other locations other
than the server. These files retain there links and now we have extra links
and a mess.......Until we get our users to more experience, we need to take
the rows out of the sub projects along with the links and place them in one
large project. What is the best way to do this?

Also, since we are creating large projects now, what is the maximum number
of rows in a single project?

Your problem arises from saving these enterprise projects as MPP files.
It's time to stop that right now. Furthermore, I don't get the point of
removing the tasks with external links. I don't think that makes sense,
especially if you want external predecessors to automatically update thats
that are external successors. For whatever it's worth, you can have up to
1,000,000 tasks in a project, at least theoretically. Let me know when you
reach that limit! :)
