Hello,

I have a Visio drawing which sets a color (RGB) and a transparency so object beneath are somewhat visible. PowerPoint uses the same command. I need to set the color for table cell in Word (or Excel) for the same color and transparency. Word and Excel only use RGB values. Does anyone know how to translate the Visio/PowerPoint color so they are the same in Word/Excel.

Thanks.

This is workaround to my question.

1) Create a shape (rectangle) in Visio / PowerPoint.
2) Set the fill color and transparency.
2) Copy the image.
3) Paste the image into Paint.
4) Use the color picker (eye drop).
5) Edit Colors.
6) Read the RGB values.

These seem to get a pretty close match.

Still would like to know the formula.

Thanks.
