Max # of Project Files Linked to a Project Master

Is there a maximum number of files that can be linked to a Project file?

Hi MartyO,
According to the Project Specifications the magic number is 998 consolidated
project files.

Just to clarify.... 998 consolidated files.... is the same as having a
master project with links out to multiple files, right?

We have the need to link 550 files to a master project file.

Hi,

Warning! Be very, very careful. If any of those files is renamed, moved,
over-written then you will likely get a file corruption! I would carefully
consider other ways of getting what you want. 550 files is unworkable in my
mind. Sounds also like you are ready for Project Server (the new Project
Server 12 due out around Sept would work wonders for you).

warning -- 550 files is highly likely for corruption.
