Max Value

Greetings all,

Can someone please tell me the best expression to use to find the
highest number, in a column H of numbers (which include empty fields)
between H3 and H600.

My mistake was trying to use MS Help.

Max ignores blanks and text values fine

=MAX(H3:H1000)

Oh, really? I just typed

highest number

in the Answer Wizard box, and MAX worksheet function was the first item in the
list.

Whatever I exactly typed took me to exponential powers, which I understand
but knew I did not want.
