Maximum number of copies allowed of Office 2003.

Is there a maximum number of PCs on which I can load a single copy of Office
2003???

I loaded the s/w on an old PC, one that I discarded 2-3 months ago. Since
then, I bought a new PC and loaded the s/w on it. I also loaded it on my
laptop.

It seems that I can load the s/w on a maximum of 3 PCs. Is this correct??
Is there any way I can get a 'credit' for the PC I discarded??

It depends on the version you have. Students version is allowed on 3
PCs. Retail version is allowed on only two systems. OEM version is not
allowed to be installed on any additional systems nor is it allowed to
be transferred on to new system. Retail versions can be done!

There are some who say generic OEMs are as good as retail versions. I
don't know this. We don't have this in the UK. I don't buy OEM
software. PERIOD.

Also, I know that after 120 days, the history for retail versions is
wiped clean and you can install it again and activate it online. OEM
versions always require telephone activation even after 1 year!!! So
don't buy OEM versions!!
