Maximum number of pages in a Word XP document?

I'm using Word XP with the SP2 patch. I looked in the help menu and saw
that there was a limit to the document size, but no mention to the limit of
the number of pages or words in a document. So the document is limited
strictly by size and not word count or page count? Thanks.

That's correct. However, the actual limit you can USE will also depend on how
"strong" the machine is on which you're trying to work with a large document.
And keep in mind that the size limit does not pertain to graphics you've
added to the file, but basically to text + formatting.

The limit is 30MB text. But the more complex a document becomes, the sooner
it becomes unmanageable. See the thread Long Documents V. MasterDocs in this
Newsgroup. Also check in the longdocuments NG for more tips.
