Maximum Page Length in Publisher 2000

I have a long web page that is 7700 pixels long. The entire page length
appears in the web preview but the bottom text boxes do not. I know the
entire page appears because the boarder art is shown. If I increase the
page length through a custom size the missing text boxes are displaced to the
middle of the webpage. Any idea what is happening?

Once you lengthen the page the text box gets recentered on the work area.
After lengthening the work area, adjust your text box to the top and things
should be ok again.

David,

Sounds good. I'll try it. In the past when lengthening a page I'd lengthen
the page then group the contents and move it to the top of the page.

Hi Don,

I have also found that sometimes the spacing also gets skewed. As a result I
have opened a new instance of Publisher, lengthen that page, then go back to
the original, select all, group, copy and paste on the new page.

Thanks for the ideas. I have tried the grouping and moving idea before and it
did not help. It seems that the last few text boxes are beyond the length of
the webpage. This is confusing since the length is dynamically adjusted by
publisher 2003. The border image is present for the correct length but the
bottom area where the missing text belongs, remains blank. I also tried
changing the order in case the new text boxes were somehow being hidden
behind the border object. No effect. I also tried changing the transparency
of the border object again with no effect. There are seven other text boxes
further up on the webpage which work fine. I have not tried a totally new
instance of Publisher yet. Got to be worth a try. Thanks for the ideas, any
other suggestions would be welcome.

If you are talking about what happens to your layout when you change the
dimensions of the page by lengthening it, that is one thing. But if you are
talking about your layout skewing when you do a web page preview, that is
another.

Border image? Not sure what you mean by that, but if you are putting a
border around all the content on your page, that alone may be creating the
problem.

If you are using a master page, that can create a problem.

If everything looks ok until you preview the page, its possible that you
have some design objects that are conflicting and making things shift. A
recent poster overlapped some text boxes with an animated gif. When the gif
was removed, all was ok.

Perhaps run the design checker tool and see if that gives any insight.
