May I give my Office 2002 to my grandchild since I have 2003

I purchased Office XP Standard 2003 and would like to give my 2002 version to
my 5 yr and 8 yr grandchildren for their educational uses? May I do this
with your blessing?

It's not a matter of blessing. If it is a full retail copy, not one that was
preinstalled on another computer, yes.

I'm not sure how children that young are going to benefit from Office. I
would have suggested some nice Reader Rabbit type programs and that ilk. I
think most of us would prefer Reader Rabbit to Excel any day. ;-)

Get up-to-date. OP's grand-kids may be more computer-savvy than we realize.
Mine started the Reader Rabbit series at age 2 and mastered it by age 4.

Jay, thank you. My son is an expert on computers and will help them learn
word processing using WORD 2002. By the way the two boys are using Reader
Rabbit with great enthusiasm. The 3rd grader is beginning to use Word and
PowerPoint in school so as you can see I didn't want this WORD 2002 going to
waste if they could use it which they can. So you are saying that I can give
it to them with no retribution for having done so? let me know if I got this
right.

I don't have children and my cats aren't allowed to use the computer. They
were caught buying bales of catnip over the internet. ;-)

I don't have the authority to give or deny blessings, but, if your new
Office version is an Upgrade, you must retain the prior version to comply
with the upgrade license that now includes your prior version as a part of
the same product..
