MBP 3GB v. 2GB

Configuration: 17" MBP, 2.33 GHz C2D, 3GB DDR2 SDRAM OS X v10.5.2

In the *many* crashes of Excel & Powerpoint, I've noticed that the configuration of my computer reported to Microsoft states that there is only 2GB of RAM installed. However I have 3GB. If the crash is trapped by OS X, the correct configuration of the computer is reported to Apple.

Anyone else seen this anomaly? Anyone with 3GB of memory having issues with 2008? I can't find any references to this - and I'm finding posts as of folks as frustrated as I with 2008 - and folks who are equally amazed we're having issues... I routinely work with >60+MB Excel spreadsheets, with LOTS of calculations... I'm back to using Office 2003 via Parallels - it's actually faster and less crash prone than 2008 running native.

Just upgraded to v12.0.1 manually, at the suggestion of Corentin Cras-Méneur... Strangely, the Auto Update didn't catch that update...

Anyways - as soon as I started up: CRASH! Nice. Crash Log below. See at the very bottom the report of the configuration.

If you have been reading this newsgroup, you would have seen, IT HAS NOT
BEEN RELEASED FOR AUTO DOWNLOAD YET. Sorry about the shouting, but it gets
tiring saying it over and over and over.
Anyways - as soon as I started up: CRASH! Nice. Crash Log below. See at the
very bottom the report of the configuration.

Hardly anyone here knows how to read logs. Using a newsreader you could have
posted the log in one message.

I suggest following the steps in this article on installing:

You might be a lot happier with this newsgroup if you don't use the Mactopia
interface.

It's much easier to use the Entourage newsreader to view this newsgroup. The
Mactopia web interface is just one way to access. If you can do an email,
then you can use the Entourage newsreader.

Another benefit is messages downloaded are searchable by Entourage's
Spotlight search. By clicking on the "more" button you can get older
messages to search for help.

If I were to take a guess, I would say it came down trying to read an HTML
email from the database. But it's purely a guess...
