McAfee VScan & Saving Office document

Since downloading the latest McAfee Virus Scan update my computer hangs when
i save an Excel (or Word) document. If i disable the Virus Scan it saves ok.
When i sent info to MS i got a message telling me it is a known problem and
to contact McAfee. McAfee's "chat" help is a complete misnomer, as it has
suggested 2 different solutions, neither of which work!

I dont use McAfee but I would assume its the same as in Norton ie an Option
in the AV protection.
The McAffee help should direct you
PS Norton Office plugin can also cause problems

the problem is with VS 9. If it is the problem I am aware of it involves
saving over a network or mapped drive. If you right click on the big red M
chose virusscan then options you will find an advanced tab in the lower right
hand corner. Click on it and switch the settings to program files and
documents only.
