MCAS repost

I'm a long time Excel user who needs to add Excel certification to his CV.
How would I set about obtaining MCAS Excel? Do I need to sit through
somebody's course or can I just site an exam direct? What level does it
test (say on a scale, newbie, basic, experienced, advanced, expert,
master)? What is a pass?

My main concern at present is no experience XL2007. Is there an EL2003 MCAS
or do I need to obtain and become familiar with the 2007 interface??

Hi,

I've never used it but

Microsoft Certified Application Specialist Study Guide: 2007 Microsoft
Office System Edition, ISBN 978-0-7356-2548-8

I don't believe there is any requirement to attend any classes, just
pass the test.

I appreciate the folk who answer questions are knowleagable and diligent
and that all answers are voluntary and, mostly, almost immediate. I did
not intend to offend nor appear impatient - just thought it had slipped
through the cracks.

Thank you for the MS reference. It gave some backgound but either
doesn't tell me how, when, where to get MCAS or I can't find it. I found
my way to external links that seem to include scant detail of what you
get for your money (incidentally, I did my websearch and found the MS
reference before posting). Shane's Study Guide MAY be useful - hard to
tell without reading it - but I still have no clear idea what is
involved to just sit the test. I am hoping someone experienced may be
able to shed a few wise words.

Hand on heart - Promise you won't hear any more reposts unless no
response for one week <bg>

My comment.... Reposting within 24 hours will not get you an informative
response any sooner. If/when someone has some input, rest assured that your
posting will be seen and responded to in due time. Reposting only creates
confusion about which thread to respond to.

If you do not receive a response after, say, a week, arguably a reposting
might be warranted. But most knowledgable people in the m.p.excel forums
are very diligent, and few postings that can be answered go unanswered.

I'm afraid I am not knowledgable about the MCAS Excel certification. But a
Google search for "microsoft mcas" (without quotes) finds
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mbc.aspx . Does that
answer any of your questions?
