MDE Files - Can not Move them

No idea, but that is a pretty cool "feature". It would certainly cut down
on people copying your file and taking it home or to a new job :).
Too bad it can still be opened through the application.

find something called 'jet utilities' from microsoft-- it will probably
only be available as a tool for Access 97 or something.

this includes something called LDB viewer; this will tell you who has
the file open.. i think that it will even let you kill connections; i
can't remember.

in the long term; use MSDE instead of MDB-- MDB is dead.

Maybe it is a Feature, but know one will tell me it is, nor does anyone seem
to have any idea why it works this way.

I'm pretty sure this reflex is not intentional. I've never encountered it.

No, it does work for Jet 4.0 MDBs.
