mdf file not recognized

BCM 2007 will no longer recognize my mdf file. I can create a new database
which BCM stores in the same location of the old .mdf file. When I try to
select an existing database to work with it only lists the new one.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I know that bcm examines the mdf files in that folder, and decides
which ones are bcm files it can use. Is the old database in the same
locale (e.g. English USA) and created/owned by your login? If not,
that might stop it fro showing up.

Yes. Nothing has changed. Is there a repair utility available that might be
able to help?

There's no repair utility. It's unclear what the problem is. You could
try asking Microsoft for help, they may know about this issue and have
a fix.

You could also try attaching the database to the sql instance using
sql tools, and then checking if the database shows up as available in
BCM.

Hmmm.... I finally solved the problem by renaming the file.

An odd one for sure, but I'm glad to have my data back. :)
