MDI and Office SP2

After installing Office 2003 Service Pack 2 and rebooting my system the MDI
writer choice is gone from my PC printer list. Nothing else was changed on
the PC so I can only guess that the install caused the issue. Could it be
buried somewhere on my PC or did SP2 delete it?

Thanks.

Hi J.D.,

If you use the Microsoft Office 2003 choice in Add/Remove Programs
in the Windows Control Panel is the MS Office Document Image Writer
shown as installed? If so, then you may want to try a repair/reinstall
from there.

MS Office Document Image Writer is not listed in the Add/Remove Programs
list. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the program was listed before I ran
Office SP2, but I do know that I had a MDI choice in my list of printers
allowing me to print as a MDI or TIF file. I will try to find my Office 2003
CDs and reinstall from there.

Thanks.

My MDI did not disappear so it is obviously not part of SP2 to uninstall it,
at least not when it comes to the full installation package of SP2 that could
be downloaded and was the only one that worked for me.

Hi J.D.,

The MS Office Document Image Writer choice for Office 2003
isn't a separate Add/Remove Programs listing, it's under
the Office Document Imaging part of
the Office Tools Category when you use [Change]
on the Microsoft Office 2003 Add/Remove choice.

Thanks Bob. After going through the Add/Remove I was able to reinstall the
MDI writer via "Change" in Office 2003. I checked System Restore to see if
the app was removed in the past week, but nothing showed. Not sure what
happened, but glad that it is fixed.
