MDI files problem : cannot open with Office XP-2002

Hi,

got files of extension mdi from friend having Office 2003 installed
Have Xp-2002 version, with MS Document Imaging installed ( have verified and
started app). But that will only accept .tiff files as input, no .mdi files.

Any workaround ?

Cannot afford upgrade just for that.

The .MDI file format was introduced with the Office 2003 edition. The Office XP version of MS Office Document Imaging hasn't been
updated to read it (sigh).

There is one 3rd party (Russian if I recall) viewer for .mdi files available that you may want to try (at your own risk <g>) or have
the person who created the .MDI files send you the .TIFF or a graphic of the pages.
