Mdw file not found

I recently started getting the message that the "Mdw" file could not found
for one of our users on her desktop. We are running a multi-user system with
each desktop having a desktop shortcut showing the full path to Microsoft
Access, the mdb file and the mdw file. On this desktop we only get the
message when the mdw is being used by another user. If no one else is using
the mdw file this user works fine. We also recently upgraded our version of
Netware. Thanks for your help. - Len

Every user of the mdw need read, write, delete and create permissions on the
folder where the mdw/b is located. This is so the associated ldb file can
be created/deleted. You also want to make sure that the mdb and mdw in the
same folder do not have the same filename, as they each need to create a ldb
file.

Thanks for your help. We did check the settings but it seems this user is in
some way stuck and not able open up any Access file that someone else has
opened. I even created a new file with nothing in it, left it open and she
was not able to open the same file. I made sure that other people were able
to open the file with no problem. Do you think there could be some registry
setting corrupted.
Thanks again,
Len

We have seen this often enough to be certain that it is a Windows permission
issue. It is likely that the first person to open the mdb does not have
create permission on the folder. They are able to open it, but because
there is no create permission, the ldb can't be created and they open it
exclusively.

You said that this use was able to open it, if they were the first one in.

You need to ensure *every* user has the right Windows permissions.
