Media Files and PP 2003

I have recently upgrade to Office 2003. One of the projects I am working on
currently requires the insertion of a media file during the presentation.
PowerPoint 2003 is not letting me view the media file when it in the
presentation mode. I have heard that there is a design flaw and that PP 2003
will not let you view media files during the presentation. Is this true? If
so what do I need to do in order be able to view my show with the media? Any
help is greatly appreciated.

What type of media file? Video? What's the file extension and where did you
get it? Have you applied service pack 1 to Office 2003?

It's an mpeg file. It's a clip from a resource DVD. It is just video, no
audio. Yes I have applied service pack one to Office 2003.

Sounds like a driver issue. Make certain you have the latest video drivers
for your card (from the manufacture) and have DirectX 9 installed (From MS).

No, it's not true. PPT can be really touchy with video, sure, but whoever
told you there's a design flaw and PPT won't let you view media files during
a presentation is smokin' something. (Think they'd be willing to share? It
sure sounds like good stuff!)
