Media Player 10 activex & Access 2000

On 2 different machines with WMP 10, trying to 'Insert' 'ActiveX' 'Windows
Media Player' causes Access 2000 to hang without error message.
I can insert and use the control on a third machine with WMP 9 but, having
copied the databse to either of the first 2 machines, I find that editing the
form for editing causes Access to hang - again without error.
I'm looking to build an app to analyse video recordings that would allow
users to define and annotate 'extracts'.
I'd be very grateful for solutions, workarounds or suggestions for better
behaved Video playing activex controls.
