media player won't launch

I am trying to inset a .asx file into my power point. I have done it
successfully in 2000, but in 2003 the meia player application will not launch
(I get the warning message, but then nothing). Am I missing a plug in or am
I doing wrong when I isert it? I am Inserting an object by file name.

PLEASE HELP

What is the warning message? What version of Windows and what version of WMP?

Hmmm, how long is the path string to the file? Try putting the file in
C:\Temp and see if it plays properly.
