Memo Field Causing Crash

We have a memo field in our customer table which has been added to over the
years via a forms bound field. One of the records has reached a size of
182,520 as determined by the LEN() function.
If you try to delete some of the field a msg saying "to little memory
available" and following that the db crashes.
I can delete the record and recreate buy that seems a poor solution.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

there is a limitation of 65,535 chars in memo field, see:

try to change textbox on a form to unbound one and save/load data there with
code

It sounds like you're saying that your application keeps appending to the end
of this field. I can't see where that would be a useful way to store
information. If that what it's doing I would re-evaluate what you're doing
with this data. What is the purpose of this field? Is this some sort of
logging?
