memory could not be written

Word 2000 . trying to perform a copy - paste in a word document (several documents) ends up in a winword.exe application erro
The instruction at "0x308c33e7" referenced memory at 0x0333f9e1, The memory could not be "written
Does anybody know why this occurs and does anybody know how to solve it ?

If you are running Windows 2000, make sure you are up to date with service
packs. This was an issue pre-SP1.
