Memory drain and slowing of OneNote 2007

A thread from November approached this issue, but did not help my situation.
I have version 12.0.4518.1014 on a tablet with 1.5 Gig dedicated to memory.
As I continue to use ON 2007 it gets progressively slower to respond and
eventually locks my computer. I have tried stopping all other programs and
non-essential processes to see if something else is causing the problem, but
it still happens. Any ideas as to how to approach this?

Don't you people sleep? Thanks for the quick comeback! I am using XP with
all the recommended updates.

Are you mostly inking or typing your notes? What antivirus/antispyware program(s)
are you using?

I haven't seen that behavior myself, but perhaps we can sort it out.

I assume you have Windows Desktop Search installed and running?
