This problem occurs on some, but not all, of the PCs at work.. when clicking
on an Excel spreadsheet from the Intranet, the sheet appears as a web-page,
but you have no access to to the Excel Menus (the Menus appear, such as
"Tools" or "Data" but they don't respond when clicked). So you can not filter
or sort the data. Other PCs can "see" the menus properly and manipulate the
data. Machines are using WIN2K, WinXP (both SP1 and SP2) and various
versions of office from 97 to 2003; but I see no correlation between
operating system version and office version (it works or doesn't work on
pretty much every combination). Nor can I seem to find any similarities in
Security or Explorer settings. I know you can change Explorer to open the
native program (in this case Excel); but that is a slower option. And I'd
like to know why it works on some and not on others. Thanks for any
assistance...
