Merge and Compare 2 Projects Plans

Hi,

Is it possible to "merge and compare" two project plans, with one
resulting in the baseline and the other in the actual state in MS
Project 2003? I know there's a COM Add-In for Project 2002, but what
about 2003?

Thanks!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, this add-on will not install for
Project 2003. There is also another version for Project 2002
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=067139f6-baeb-44ea-becb-75b50fb0e5d7),
but it won't install either.

The Microsoft Office Project Standard 2003 Datasheet
(http://download.microsoft.com/docum...demo/downloads/project-std-2003-datasheet.doc),
p.2, seems to indicate that this is a built-in function, but I can't
find it.

Thanks again for your help!

Kind regards,

Raphael

Raphael,

The compare project feature is built in to Project 2003. Do you see the
Compare Projects toolbar listed under View > toolbars in the menu?

If not, follow the steps below:

The *compare **projects* utility is a COM add-in. See if the following
steps work.

Tools > Customize > Toolbars.
In the customize dialog box, select the Commands tab.
In the Categories: list scroll to find All Commands.
Click on All Commands and in the Commands: list on the right find
ComAddInsDialog.
Drag that command to any toolbar.
Click the COM Add-Ins... toolbar button and you should see the list of
add-ins.
My installation shows the following when I select the *Compare* Project
Versions Utility:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\COMPPRJ.DLL

Try removing and then adding the file.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
