Merge data from multiple worksheets

I am using excel 2000 and have 4 worksheets in the same workbook. Each
worksheet is formatted with a yearly calendar. This is a vacation
calender for 4 different positions in my department. All 4 worksheets
are exactly the same except for the names of the people on vacation in
the cells. I would like to have a way to combine these 4 worksheets
into one without the lengthy process of creating a 5th sheet with
formulas in each cell inhabitted by names. I would prefer to have a
seperate workbook that was linked in some way. All suggestions are
appreciated.

Hi,

Not knowing what your detail calendars look like,
if you had X's in each cell of vacation, then if you
could change them to the person's name, then this
would work perhaps; put in Cell A1 of your master
which is Sheet1. It puts their combined names
into the cell: John, John Nancy, Nancy Bill, etc

=Sheet2!A1 & " " &Sheet3!A1 & " " &Sheet4!A1

Drag (copying) this down and across to all your daily
cells. Not real pretty, but might work.

Let's say A2:G2 is a merged cell with the month (January 2004), row 3
had the day of the week in each column Sun - Sat, row 4 has the date
(number format), row 5 are cells used to reserve that day for a
particular person. Row 6 has the date (number), row 7 has cells to
enter in person's name, row 8 has date, row 9 has cells for people's
name, row 10 has date, row 11 has people's names, row 12 has dates,
row 13 has names, then row 14 starts next month (Feb 2004)

Each worksheet is formatted for the whole year like this. I want to
combine the names of the people into one calendar instead of
seperating into positions, like each worksheet is.
